As geopolitical tensions, supply shortages and extended product life cycles continue to strain the global electronics supply chain, purchasing professionals increasingly rely on independent distribution channels to source obsolete, allocated and hard-to-find components. In that environment, supplier verification and inspection standards are essential.

Members undergo annual audits to the QMS-9090 certification to ensure compliance with the unique operational and quality requirements of the independent distribution industry.
Members must have their inspectors maintain certification to the IDEA-ICE-3000 and inspect components using the criteria established in the IDEA-STD-1010, adding consistency and accountability throughout the sourcing process.
IDEA-STD-1010, the first and only visual inspection standard developed specifically for components purchased through the independent distribution market, establishes criteria used to identify counterfeit and substandard parts before they enter production.
